Welcome To Our World

The long promised saviour of the world is here!

Once again this Christmas we have celebrated Christ coming into our world all those years ago.
Into a world that needs Jesus.
Every person in this world needs Jesus.

Please welcome Christ into the world, and into your life this Christmas.

Welcome To Our World by Michael W Smith
Tears are falling, hearts are breaking

How we need to hear from God
You've been promised, we've been waiting
Welcome Holy Child
Welcome Holy Child

Hope that you don't mind our manger
How I wish we would have known
But long awaited Holy Stranger
Make yourself at home
Please make yourself at home

Bring your peace into our violence
Bid our hungry souls be filled
Word now breaking Heaven's silence
Welcome to our world
Welcome to our world

Fragile finger sent to heal us
Tender brow prepared for thorn
Tiny heart whose blood will save us
Unto us is born
Unto us is born

So wrap our injured flesh around You
Breathe our air and walk our sod
Rob our sin and make us holy
Perfect Son of God
Perfect Son of God

Welcome to our world

God Is Here!

The family get-togethers and ornaments and presents are all very nice at this time of year, but let's not allow them to obscure the reason why we celebrate Christmas - the reason for the season.

How awesome it must have been to be alive at time Jesus was born, and be able to say, "You're the Saviour we've been praying for". Now 2000+ years later we can still proclaim those same words as they are still very relevant, "You're the Saviour we've been praying for".

God IS with us, Hallelujah!

God Is With Us
The skies don't seem to be as dark as usual
The stars seem brighter then they've been before
Deep within I feel my soul a stirring
As though my hope has been restored
The shepherds say they've heard the voice of angels
Confirming rumors spread across the land
That a child protected well from Herod's anger
Is our Father's Son, and the son of man

Love is raining down on the world tonight
There's a presence here I can tell
God is in us, God is for us, God is with us, Emmanuel
He's the Saviour we have been praying for
In our humble hearts He will dwell
God is in us, God is for us, God is with us, Emmanuel

I feel compelled to tell all who will listen
That peace on earth is not so out of reach
If we can find grace, mercy and forgiveness
He has come to save, He is all of these

You're the Saviour we have been praying for
In our humble hearts You will dwell
You are in us, You are for us, You are with us, Emmanuel

A Simple Message

The other week I was reminded of the the words of the following song, and they have stuck with me since then. Two lines in particular have stuck in my mind:

For those who seek him are sure to find him, and none who seek him Christ ignores.

Though you have failed him, God loves you.

What fantastic words of reassurance - no matter who we are and what we've done, God loves us and will not ignore us. I can add no more to that!

There is a message a simple message,
There is a message for us all,
And it's a message for us all;
There is a Saviour, and what a Saviour!
There is a Saviour for us all.

Let's look at Jesus for he's the Saviour,
And he will answer when we call;
Let's look at Jesus for he's the Saviour,
Yes, he's the Saviour for us all.

If you want pardon, then ask for pardon,
And God's own pardon shall be yours;
For those who seek him are sure to find him,
And none who seek him Christ ignores.

Let's look at Jesus for he's the Saviour,
And he will answer when we call;
Let's look at Jesus for he's the Saviour,
Yes, he's the Saviour for us all.

Though you have failed him, and how you've failed him!
Though you have failed him, God loves you;
The proof is Jesus, so look at Jesus,
And learn from Jesus God loves you.

Let's look at Jesus for he's the Saviour,
And he will answer when we call;
Let's look at Jesus for he's the Saviour,
Yes, he's the Saviour for us all.

Harvest

Today at our services at Bellshill Salvation Army we celebrated harvest time. What images does that conjure up for you?

Here's the dictionary definition of "harvest":
1. the gathering of a ripened crop
2. the crop itself
3. the season for gathering crops
4. the product of an effort or action

Traditionally we always think of farmers, crops and food when we think about harvest.
This harvest I'd ask you to pray for those who are starving...not just in foreign lands but here in this country. We all can be very guilty at time of taking our food, possessions and our family and friends for granted, so I'd also ask you to thank God for all you have, all He has given you.

But harvest need not just be all about the crops and the food being harvested, it's also a time for us to think about bringing others into a knowledge and understanding of God's love...to "harvest" others lives into God's will.

We must all be examples for Christ, after all something we say or do may be the thing which brings someone into a relationship with God. We may not always see any results of what we do/say, but if we a simply word or action may be the seed that lands in someone's heart and develops into a heart full of love for God.

2 Corinthians 9:10
Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.

Galatians 6:9
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

In conclusion, pray today that God might use you to plant a seed in someone's heart so that they might come to know God as their friend and saviour.

Knowing You

Knowing You

All I once held dear built my life upon
All this world reveres, and wars to own
All I once thought gain I have counted loss
Spent and worthless now, compared to this

Knowing you, Jesus knowing you
There is no greater thing
You're my all you're the best
You're my joy, my righteousness
And I love you ,lord

Now my heart's desire is to know you more
To be found in you, and known as yours
To possess by faith what I could not earn
All surpassing gift of righteousness

Knowing you, Jesus knowing you
There is no greater thing
You're my all you're the best
You're my joy, my righteousness
And I love you ,lord

Oh to know the power of your risen life
And to know you in your suffering
To become like you in your death my Lord
So with You to live
And never die

Knowing you, Jesus knowing you
There is no greater thing
You're my all you're the best
You're my joy, my righteousness
And I love you ,lord

Do you know Christ as your personal friend and saviour?
Is Christ your all in all?

Make a decision today to get to know Jesus better. I promise you you will never experience anything better. You will never meet anyone you will love you more or give you more joy.

There is no greater thing than knowing Jesus!
