When humanity's relationship floundered and failed, God sent Jesus. Why did He do that? Because He loves us - John 3:16 "God so loved the world that He gave His only son".
Not only did God give Jesus, He gives us hope. Hope because He continues to seek those who haven't found Him yet. Luke 19:10 And I, the Son of Man, have come to seek and save those like him who are lost.
There are a couple of stories which Jesus told to illustrate how God seeks people and wants to save them:
The first story was about a shepherd who lost one of his precious sheep, so went looking for it until he found the lost sheep. When he found the lost sheep, the shepherd was so happy that he had a party to celebrate.
The other story was about a woman who lost a valuable coin. She searched diligently until the lost coin was found, and just like the shepherd she rejoiced.
How many of us get lost in the things of this world, in sin, and find ourselves helpless without any help from God? How many of us don't even realise we are lost, or indeed, how far we have wandered from God?
These people all need God. If you recognise yourself from one of the above descriptions, you need God, and God wants to save you today! God wants you to come to Him today.
Luke 15:10 In the same way, there is joy in the presence of God's angels when even one sinner repents.
There's going to be a party in heaven, and God wants you to be His guest of honour!Respond to God today, because He is seeking you. There will be joy for you, and for all in heaven, when God finds you!
Love Will Find A Way by Delirious? Look around at what you see There's an s.o.s. ringing out for me I thought I believed but I just turn away From these souls living in this hell today
Tears are falling, on my face From my face
Love, love will find a way to break through This love finds a way to shine through Your love, finds a way to break through, This love finds a way to kiss you.
I stare in the eyes of this flesh and bone I'm a tourist here so tomorrow I go home I try to make sense of the things I've seen Between the poverty and the five star dream.
Love will lead me to your feet Love wont pass me on the street Love will look me in the eye Love wont leave me here to die To your arms I'm gonna run And escape what I've become Love will find a better way, so they say
Love it will break you Love it will take you Love it will break you down
Deuteronomy 32:2 (NIV) Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants.
Let God's word rain down on you today. Let Him enter into your life and take control. He is willing and ready to do so today.
Delirious? - Rain Down
Looks like tonight, the sky is heavy Feels like the winds are gonna change Beneath my feet, the earth is ready I know its time for heaven's rain, it's gonna rain
Cos it's living water we desire To flood our hearts with holy fire
Rain down all around the world we're singing Rain down can you hear the earth is singing Rain down my heart is dry but still I'm singing Rain down rain it down on me.
Back to the start, my heart is heavy Feels like it's time, to dream again I see the clouds, and yes I'm ready To dance upon this barren land Hope in my hands
Do not shut, Do not shut, Do not shut the heavens But open up, open up, open up our hearts
Give me strength to cross the water Keep my heart upon Your altar Give me strength to cross this water Keep my feet don’t let me falter
1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (New Living Translation) Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
Well know words from scripture which I'm sure you've heard many times before. Just because you've heard them many times, do still actually consider what those words mean?
Love is stronger than anything else, it will endure through anything. Love will never desert you even when you feel unloved, as God will always love you. God's love will last forever. God's love for you will endure no matter what you may have done in your life - God's love for you lasts forever.
Today I ask you to join me in thanking God for loving us unconditionally.
I Could Sing of Your Love Forever Written by Martin Smith
Over the mountains and the sea, Your river runs with love for me, and I will open up my heart and let the Healer set me free. I'm happy to be in the truth, and I will daily lift my hands: for I will always sing of when Your love came down. [Yeah!]
I could sing of Your love forever, I could sing of Your love forever, I could sing of Your love forever, I could sing of Your love forever. [Repeat]
Oh, I feel like dancing - it's foolishness I know; but, when the world has seen the light, they will dance with joy, like we're dancing now.
Today I'd like to say thank you to all my family and all my friends for their love and understanding they've given to me over the years.
I know I for one can often take my family and friends for granted, so that's why today I want to say thank you to each of you. Don't put off saying "thank you" or "I love you" to someone close to you, as you never know when might be the last time you see them!
Sorry, I didn't mean to go all morbid there! All I'm trying to say is, don't take your family and friends for granted, so many people have no one and would be so grateful for just one friend.
The most important friend we can have in our life though, is of course Jesus. He like every other friend, should not be taken for granted, so when you pray, say thank you to God for all He does for you, and tell Him you love Him.
What A Friend I've Found (Martin Smith) What a friend I've found Closer than a brother I have felt your touch More intimate than lovers
Jesus, Jesus Jesus, friend forever
What a hope I've found More faithful than a mother It would break my heart To ever lose each other
