Why Does God Love Me? (by Bob Hefner)

Why does God love me? Why does He care?
I know I'm not worthy, but He's always there.
He's kept and protected me all through the years,
And loved me and coddled me and calmed all my fears.

It's not what I am or am going to be,
It's what God is, that's why he loves me.
He sent forth His son to die in my place,
And made me His child because of His grace.

It's not what I've done, or ever can do,
That makes life exciting and everything new.
It's the faith that He gave me and the truth that He showed,
How I'm counted as sinless because Jesus' blood flowed.

And that's why I love Him and serve Him each day,
Because I know He loves me and He'll lead the way.
I can trust Him and know that His will is the best.
There's no need to worry. In Him I find rest.

How long will God love me? How long will He care?
At the end of forever God's love will be there.
He will always be caring, protecting and leading,
And giving me all that He knows I am needing.


God knows each one of us individually. He knows everything about us. He knows our every thought and every desire before we even know it ourselves. He knows our deepest fears and our every need.

God loves us for being ourselves. His love is unconditional and unquestioning. God loves us simply because He made us. No one else will ever love us as much as God does. Others may let us down but God never will, He will always be there for us.

Thank God today for His love for us. Thank Him for loving us unconditionally.
